Breaking into the modeling industry can be an exciting but often frustrating experience for aspiring models. Competition is fierce in the industry and modeling agencies literally receive millions of photos each year from new models who want to be the next Heidi or Giselle.

Modeling agencies are so swamped with photos that several agencies have admitted to us that they don’t even open the envelopes or emails of photos they receive unless it is from an established scout or agency with whom they already have an established relationship. This way they know that the photos they receive have been screened, professionally presented and there is a good chance they will be interested in the new model being shown to the agent.

Do I Look Like A Model? is not an agency nor do we place you with an agency. Our experienced and professional model scouts have placed thousands of models with all of the top agencies and successfully launched AND managed hundreds of models careers. We doubt that there are models you probably have heard of that our scouts made successful. They have also worked at the top modeling agencies in the world with direct business relationships with the clients that need models such as Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s, Gap and Lands End just to name a few.

What Types Of Photos Should I Submit?

We need to be able to see you!  Therefore we ask that you submit 4 images of just yourself – not you and your friends. Females need to have their hair pulled back wearing little to NO make-up. Also wear something that form fitting and solid in color. If you have an athletic build and/or are interested in lingere or swimwear, please include in additional body shot.

1) A clean face shot straight on

3) 3/4 length shot
4) Full length shot (from head to toe)

Do I Need Professional Photos?

NO! Our scouts are able to tell from a simple snap shot or digital picture.

What Size Of Photos Should I Send?

We need to be able to see you, so we ask that the image is in high resolution taken from a standard camera or a digital camera. Images from a cell/mobile phone are too small and in a lower quality.

Emailing your photos is easiest when your photos are not too big. Please be sure that emailed photos are no larger than 500 x 600 pixels.

How Many Photos Can I Send?

Agencies receive hundreds of photos of potential talent everyday. Unfortunately, it is often not the agents/bookers who are reviewing them. It could be anyone from the secretary to and assistant or an intern who may not have the trained eye to see your potential.

What Are Your Age, Height & Size Requirements?

Models and Talent come in all shapes and sizes. However, when it come to high fashion, catalogue, runway modeling the are very specific sizes one must be to have a successful career. Why? Because  in the above divisions of modeling, the clothes are not in the stores and being pulled off of the racks to be modeled. They are hot out of the top designer studios and are referrer to as samples. The ages for these division usually range between 14 – 30 years.

High Fashion, Runway and Catalogue Modeling Requirements
Female models need to be 5′9″ A to small C cup bust, up to a 26″ waist, and no more then a 35″ hip.

Male models need to be 6′ to 6′3″ no more then a 42 jacket and no more then a 34″ waist.

Plus models also need to be body proportionate. Ranging in sizes 12 – 18.

Commercial Print Models
This is one of the largest divisions of modeling because it does not have the strict age, height and size requirements.
Commercial print modeling is the modeling of a product and not apparel. It could be for anything from an advertisement for Samsung, apple computers, Pine Sol, Tide detergent, to Crest toothpaste.

The age requirement is from newborns to the mature.

There are no specific height or size requirements. Commercial print modeling is basically the everyday slice of life that the mass populations can identify with.  Can you hear me now, perfect!

When Will I Receive My Photo Evaluation?

You will receive your Photo Evaluation within 14 days from the day we receive and process your photos, registration form and registration fee. Photos and registrations submitted after regular office hours, weekends or holidays will be be processed the following business day. You will receive a confirmation email from Do I Look Like A Model? confirming receipt of your registration.

It Has Been 14 Days & I Haven’t Received My Evaluation

Do I Look Like A Model? has numerous check points in place to ensure that your Photo Evaluation arrives when it is scheduled. If you do not receive your Evaluation it will ONLY be due to a technical issue that may have occurred after it was sent.

If your Photo Evaluation does not arrive by the scheduled due date please follow these steps:

Double check your evaluation due dates which is 14 days after you sent your email. Photo Evaluations are returned within 14 days. Weekends and holidays are included. If you have the correct day and haven’t received your Photo Evaluation by midnight please check your Junk folder and as a precaution any anti-spam software you may have on your computer or provided by your email account provider. You may need to add Do I Look Like A Model? to your list of safe email addresses.

If you are using a Hotmail, Google, Yahoo, MSN or AOL account these providers often mistakenly file our emails in spam, junk or deleted email folders. Further, they will delete emails in your spam or junk folders after 2 – 5 days so please be sure to check these folders on the date your Photo Evaluation is due so it is not deleted.

If you have not received your Photo Evaluation within 48 hours after the scheduled due date and you have checked all the above mentioned avenues, please email us right away. Be sure to include your name, models name and email address in your email request.

Please note that inquiries regarding Photo Evaluations must be made within 30 days of the scheduled due date. Applicants who request that their Photo Evaluation be sent to them more than three times or after the 30 day period will be assessed a $50.00 administration fee.

The fee to submit your photos for the Photo Evaluation is $45 U.S. non-refundable.

What Other Expenses Will I Have?

There are no other costs involved when submitting your photos to Do I Look Like A Model?

Even though we are not a model agency, we’d like to pass on some of our experience while working for modeling agencies and what you may anticipate. If you are signed to an agency, you may be expected to cover your basic costs for the tools you need to be a professional model such as, composite cards, test shoots, couriers, postage, etc. Some larger agencies may be willing to cover these initial expenses and then deduct them from your work, however, smaller agencies may not be able to cover these expenses for you. Every agency in every market is different, so please expect to cover your own initial expenses if you are signed to an international modeling agency.

Again, to warn you against scams and unnecessary costs, it is not necessary to invest in professional photographs until you are signed by a reputable agency. The professional agency will tell you what types of photographs, looks, outfits and other staging they believe will highlight you in order to promote you to their clients.
