Runway modeling is the most exciting type of modeling and what most aspiring and working models dream about. Flashbulb’s popping, hip music blaring, famous stars lined up to see the newest fashion first – and you’re wearing it! Just the thought of it gets your adrenaline going. Every working model will tell you it’s not always glitz and glamour. Getting jobs and achieving success in fashion modeling takes work, and to get doors opened you need the looks, the attitude and the agent.

Runway models are typically in their late teens to early 20’s. Female runway models are between 5′ 9″ and 6′ 1″ with a slender physique. Male runway models are 5′11″ – 6′3″ with a trim physique that is muscular without being bulky. All runway models are naturally thin with a slight athletic build – which is say that they look healthy and active. The days of anorexic thin runway models are long over. All of the best fashion houses have strict rules banning under-weight models from their shows.
The most successful runway models eat 5-6 small meals per day and exercise about 4 times per week. Elite professional fitness trainer, Terence McCreery takes his famous clients through specialized routines designed to keep models and actors in top shape at all times. Terence shared one his routines with Do I Look Like A Model? - a 20 minute warm-up on the treadmill in hill climb mode, light weights with high repetitions and he mixes in BOSU trainining and elastic bands to keep things challenging and varied. Terence warns that if you have to crash diet to keep your weight under control then runway modeling is not for you.
The Attitude
Runway models are more than a pretty face. If you’ve ever watched shows like America’s Next Top Model, then you’ll know what I mean when I tell you it’s about attitude. You’ve got to walk the catwalk like you own it! Confidence is critical. There are thousands of young women and men that want to be in your shoes and on the runway so give it all you’ve got. Do you have the confidence to strut down the catwalk in 4-inch heels? If you do, then perhaps runway modeling is for you.
Superstars like: Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford and Giselle Bundchen are just a few great examples of the success supermodels can achieve. Each of these women are smart professionals that put their runway success to work for them. Supermodels recongize that it takes more than a pretty face to be more than one hit wonder. It takes focus, training, showing up to work on time and ready to work, talking like a professional and keeping themselves healthy. Just take a look at some of their photos and you’ll see their attitude and confidence jump right of the page. Their smile radiates and poses make a statement. Thats what fashion houses want.
Do I Look Like A Model? gives you an affordable opportunity to discover your model potential from professional model scouts that have found, developed and managed model superstars for more than 15 years. You’ve really got nothing to lose - it doesn’t cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, there is no cost for professional photos and no embarrasing mock runway scenes with ex-industry workers. Hurry and get started now before the upcoming model season.
The Agent
It is absolutely possible for aspring models to enter contests and win a modeling contract. The odds of getting started this way are smaller than entering and wining American Idol!
Professionals in the industry will tell you that having an agent is a must – that is true. You can send your photos to modeling agencies all over the world for absolutely free. Thousands of aspring models and parents who want to get their children into modeling do this everyday. Modeling agents are busy with earning money from models they already represent. Modeling agents do everything from finding new clients that need models, fielding requests from active clients, to tracking down models booked on shoots that don’t show up on-time. They have even less time to glance through unsolicited photographs from non-professionals to add to a wall of m
odels they already have.
With client and model work overload, agency owners and agents frequently pass on opening emails and mail to the receptionist and office assistants. Unfortunately, neither are trained or experienced in the art of looking at photo and seeing model potential.
Don’t get lost in the shuffle of a busy office and over-worked agents. Do You Look Like A Model? can tell you if you even have a shot at runway modeling.

Comments
activemum: After losing my job I have time and my kids always wanted to try modeling so we tried going to open calls at local agencies. They were so disorganized and didn't have a good client list. I tried this out to make sure we weren't wasting time. Now that I know we're on the right track, I've sent my girls' photos to regional and national agencies and got a call back just weeks later. It's fun but you need alot of patience! Good luck!
Mark: Thanks guys! I wasn't sure about the type of modeling to do and thought messing up would make me look stupid. Now I'm going to my first casting call.
Samantha: The best money I ever spent. I almost wasted $100's to find out if I could make it as a fashion model.
